Mpower is looking for a highly motivated and experienced CO Translations Specialist with great interpersonal skills and a positive attitude. Responsibilities include all complex translation functions in switching and other adjunct services platforms. Translation Technician will be member of complex translation support team for DMS 500 switch equipment. As a member of professional translation team individual will perform the following duties:
Functional Duties:
To perform customer trunk group turn up, routing, changing and testing for the DMS Switch in a real-time environment.
Maintain switch integrity through performance of the following software translations:
- Code Openings (i.e. NPA/NXX, CIC, etc.)
- Local Number Portability (LNP)
- Number Pooling
- Build Centrex service and dialing plans
- 800 Numbers
- Adjust routing during outages.
- Building Network Trunk Groups and Trunk Groups to LEC's and CLEC's.
- Trunk groups (SS7, PRI, PX, ETC) - Customer trunk group turn-up and testing
- Activate and test new features,
- Build new Line Class Codes when requested from Marketing
- Build script files to assist in translations work.
- Perform AMA/OCC capture to ensure accurate billing
- Perform LERG updates in all switches
- Clean-up of translations problems in the switches
- Perform Translation trouble analysis and resolution
- Third Tier support for NOC Organization,
- Build new rate centers when requested from Marketing
- Resolve billing issues
- Assist in trouble-shooting to resolve trouble tickets
- Resolve and assist with translations issues that are beyond normal programming scenarios.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years experience with DMS 500/250 code/routing and complex
- Thoroughly understand translations in the local service provider arena (i.e. dial plans, local calling areas etc.)
- Minimum of three years experience in trouble shooting translation issues.
- Desired knowledge of the DMS100 “LOAD 14” architecture.
- Familiar with extracting information from LERG.
- Familiar with translation requirements of LNP and Number Pooling.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Research billing discrepancies.
- Skilled in handling multiple priorities.
- Strong team player.
