ROCHESTER, NY – Aug 16, 2005 — Mpower Holding Corporation. (AMEX:MPE), the parent company of Mpower Communications Corp., a leading provider of data and voice services to retail and wholesale business customers , today held its annual meeting of shareholders. At the meeting, Mpower shareholders re-elected Michael E. Cahr and Richard L. Shorten, Jr. to its eight-member Board of Directors. Each will serve a three-year term expiring in 2008. Shareholders also approved a Long-Term Incentive Plan to replace its current stock option plans.
