Mpower Communications Offers Rhythms Business Customers a Simple Transition of Internet Services and Ability to Bundle Voice with Data
ROCHESTER, NY - August 23, 2001 - Mpower Communications Corp. (NASDAQ: MPWR), a provider of broadband high-speed Internet access and voice services to business customers, today announced a simple way for Rhythms NetConnections Internet customers to transition their broadband communications services. Rhythms announced that effective September 10, 2001 it plans to terminate services for all of its customers.
Mpower is currently running a special DSL Advantage promotion offering discounted pricing on its high-speed business DSL service when bundled with its local voice and long distance service. As part of this special promotion, customers can choose a modem or a router in the price of a one-year agreement.
As a full service communications provider, Mpower offers a compelling opportunity to integrate a business' local telephone, long distance and Web hosting services with their broadband communications. The company's total communications package includes free local toll calls within a customer's local calling region (IntraLata calls) and discounted local calling features.
"With an extensive facilities-based voice and data network, we can take the risk out of third party ISP relationships," said Mpower Communications Chief Executive Officer Rolla P. Huff. "We also take the hassle out of dealing with multiple vendors. Our business customers get all their communications directly from one source, with one bill and one single point of contact."
