("MGC" or the "Company"), (NASDAQ: MGCX), a leading facilities-based integrated communications services provider, today announced recent accomplishments in its southern California region. With the completion of the El Segundo collocation site, the Company has established 120 collocation sites in the southern California area. The network footprint, in terms of collocation sites, is larger than GTE's and one of the largest of any facilities based local carrier in the area. Total addressable lines from the 120 collocation sites exceed 7 million and will increase to over 8 million lines after completion of another 22 collocation sites that are currently under development. At June 30, 1999, MGC reported a company-wide total of 109,480 lines sold and installed and 248 collocations providing access to approximately 13.7 million addressable lines.
