Mpower's Web Statistics Program

As a new Mpower customer, you need to take a few steps to transfer your website to our network—in other words, change the Internet Service Provider (ISP) to which your domain name points to Mpower. Follow the instructions below.

For Existing Domain Names
1. Enter your domain name to search for it in the VeriSign Whois Directory. Toward the bottom of the page, you'll see where your domain is currently pointing to ("Domain servers in listed order").

2. If your domain is not pointing to Mpower, you need to contact your registrar—usually the company from whom you purchased the domain—and have them point your domain to Mpower's Name Servers (see below). You, the customer, have to put this request in to the registrar. This is not something Mpower can do for you.*

Mpower's Name Servers are:
•  ns3.mpowercom.net 208.57.196.4
•  ns4.mpowercom.net 208.57.196.5

3. Listed below are several common registrars and links to their sites where you can make changes to your domain:

•  Network Solutions
•  Register.com
•  Dotster
•  Go Daddy
•  Tucows
•  MelbourneIT

Once the domain name has been transferred and confirmation has been received, the transition will be completed within the next 72 hours.

4. In the transfer of a domain name, you must remember two very important things to help prevent downtime to your website or email services:
•  Check the VeriSign Whois Directory and make sure your domain name points to Mpower.
•  Do not take down or remove your current site until you have successfully uploaded and tested your new site on our servers.

* Mpower Communications is not liable for any loss of service due to issues relating to the domain name registrations, transfers, and domain name maintenance.
