One way to upload content to the Web is through File Transfer Protocol (FTP), which allows you to copy files from your local system onto Mpower's server. (Another way to upload websites is through FrontPage; click here for details on that process.) On this page, you'll find information and helpful hints about choosing an FTP program and transferring your files to Mpower. Choose Your FTP Program Click on any of these links to check out these popular FTP programs: Windows Mac Begin Transfer 1. Enter ftp.mpowercom.net into the name, IP address, or locator bar. 2. Make sure port number is set to 21. This is usually the default, so you shouldn't have to change it. 3. Enter the Login Name and Password in the appropriate fields. You were provided with this information when your account was set up either over the phone or by fax. It's the same information you use to log into the Members Only account administration page.
4. Connect with the Mpower server. 5. On the local drive side of the FTP screen, navigate to the folder where your Web page files are located. If necessary, do the same on the Mpower side of the FTP screen. 6. Specify file(s) you want to transfer. 7. Initiate transfer. 8. If your domain name has not yet been transferred to Mpower, you can still view your site on our server by going to http://home.mpowercom.net/~"YourLoginID" (insert your login ID after ~ in the URL). 9. Once your site is uploaded to Mpower, transfer your domain to Mpower's Name Servers. (Click here for instructions.) Helpful Hints |
